  2. ATG have immortalised grafflondon in print as the definitive toy forum. well fucking funny

    ReplyDelete
  3. i bet they will regret that if its true

  4. fuck crack and shine boy owner aint no 1 in the game so you know its gunna be shit.
    dont waste your time
atg in it says it all

    Real

  5. ^^^Henry Chalfant & Martha Cooper weren't "no 1 in the game" either. it is what it is.

no one can really comment on its contents til they've read it.

and if you have no interest reading it, fine. graffiti's not about books.

if you just wanna spout politics, rumours and conjecture, go to the Politics section of the forum and chat shit.

  6. Well said, although I do agree that it will never be as good as it could be, with someone who's not involved on the scene with no knowledge what so ever. Especially the London scene in 2008/9 compared to NYC 30 years ago.

    Massive difference pal.

  7. know a couple of the grafflondon usernames printed in the book and you would be surprised who some of them usernames are

    ReplyDelete
  8. if anything that just validates the argument that ATG saved London (which i don't agree with)

anyway those usernames are probably just the usual cunts that you find elsewhere on the net, flickr etc. loads of insecurities on display over there

  9. someone scan this page up

  10. like most of the train pieces in the book went straight to the cleaners. some legacy

  11. Arty photos in yards romanticising graf is a suckers guide to graf. Just another fashion to sweep London to make way for something else

  12. everything said about atg is true lol

  13. yeh the book is a bit shit but "the majority of writers featured are fucking useless"... ?

elk, fume, drax, fuel, teach, steas, diet, 10foot, cut, pic, sub, ATS... i cant remember any more but i'd say the majority are sick. obviously thought there are gaping holes i.e. about 90% of sick writers not being in it... but the same shit couldve been said about subway art...

the front cover and inlay look like a fucking billionaire boys club trendy t shirt and a lot of it is a bit gay but there u go...

    ReplyDelete
  14. ^^ok, fair enough... most of the writers mentioned above more than deserve to be in a London graff book, however there are certain writers notable by their absence, and plenty featured that have only been around for 5 minutes and done relatively fuck all... oh yeah, and fred is still a total cunt!

    ReplyDelete
  15. "Massive difference pal."

nah the comparisons with Subway Art are valid. those who wanted to be in it (say, Seen) were in it, and those who weren't feeling the idea of a book (say, Phase2) got left out. same with Crack & Shine.

you lot chat like there's some great conspiracy going on.

also if you want a book written by someone 'in the scene' you have the Skore n' Drax one in the pipeline. although its been 9 years in the making so don't hold your breath.

  16. "know a couple of the grafflondon usernames printed in the book and you would be surprised who some of them usernames are"

yeah but whats that saying about London? bit lame innit. bet this kind of nonsense doesn't happen in Paris or Berlin.

Bang fucking on. Everyone needs to shut the FUCK up, it's a very British tendency to moan about fucking everything it's possible to moan about, and you lot are living up to the stereotype with gusto.

As for ATG being in the book - one of the most visibly up crews in London for fucking years, sick spots, sick styles; can't think why they'd be in a book about London fucking graffiti. Whatever your gay personal or otherwise beef with them, you CANNOT deny they were (and still are to some extent) a prominent fixture of Londong graff.

All this moaning is exacerbated by the fact that you're all commenting under 'anonymous'. At least reveal your fucking usernames you pussyholes.

  18. "yeah but whats that saying about London? bit lame innit. bet this kind of nonsense doesn't happen in Paris or Berlin."

like london is anything compared to them

    ReplyDelete
  19. err, maybe not everyone has a 'fucking username'... i sure as hell don't but after reading these comments feel obligated to leave my own.
I know for a fact that writers have been left out of this book over politics/bum licking, and i'm talking about 'big name' writers that have been producing quality shit consistantly over the past three decades. writers that were asked to, and contributed photos, illustrations, etc only to be fucked off by these graff parasites.
to be fair ATG as a crew have made an impression on the scene and DO warrant an appearance (although some of them only turned up a couple of years ago). you're also right that the British public do moan and i know i'm contributing to that stereotype right now, however these wankers turn up claiming they are documenting the scene from a neutral perspective then go around back stabing people. It's a shame they turn out to be typical spineless media whores, fuck 'em!
...and by the way i wonder if they'll be sharing their spoils at £25 a pop??

  21. better off signing into your blogger account chunga haha.

had a look at the book last night, post up about it in a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  22. in my opinion the good bits of the book couldve made a really good magazine but as a whole its a bit rubbish.

    ReplyDelete
  23. sorry i have to ask, regarding the comment made yesterday at 16.55, who are these 'big name' writers who have been consistent for three decades? if someone was writing in LDN in 1979 the kids need to know about it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. ^^^ "over the past three decades" not for three decades, that means since the 80's!!! also it's not refering to a single writer, it's as a collective... smart arse!

    ReplyDelete
  25. must be referring to VOP or someone like that? Solo is a fucking mug mate. simply buffing pieces in Stockwell negates anything he has done in his career. he is irrelevant now.

    ReplyDelete
  26. was that solo one that's been buffing stockwell??

    ReplyDelete
  27. yeah Solo loves his grey emulsion. buffing pieces by NHS DDS DTB etc! he's lost the plot.

    ReplyDelete
  28. an anonymous pussyhole (a.k.a non cyber-gay), you make some valid points, although; you don't post or use the website yet you check the blog?

    ReplyDelete
  29. no no no! fuck solo! i'm talking about proper writers, trust me... i don't want to mention names and piss people off, i'm sure word will get around on the grape vine.
    safe

    ReplyDelete
  30. chunga, i was only joking... i do check the blog, just havn't posted comments before and couldn't be arsed to set up a user name...

    ReplyDelete
  31. the way peopleare going on, this sounds like an atg book ignoring all the other stuff in there.
i havent read this yet but it sounds good regardless if ALL of it is good or not. nobodys going to like and agree with every single article.

take atg for example. some of it is seriously sick (asure panik etc) some of it is not my cup of tea. get over it

    ReplyDelete
  32. Book's a banger good read nice flicks, some people wernt in the book because they didnt want to be init and for a certain few they wuda ruined it to be honest. Woulda liked to have seen more flicks from certain people maybe like a section of bomb alert.

    ReplyDelete
  33. fuck fred and his faggy little photographer friend. graff parasites plain and simple.

    ReplyDelete
  34. if all you lot have such high standards why dont you make your own book and see how great it looks..
just proves a point that london is one of the most negative citys when it comes to graff,,if you aint got nothing nice to say then fuck off

    ReplyDelete
  35. Do any of you know how much it costs to bring out a hard back full colour glossy book with over a hundred pages, not including a few years work, all editing, photoshop for every picture? Its a shame in these times but actually 25quid is cheap for what this is.

    ReplyDelete
  36. no but does fred?
no, he's just gets some relation to publish it for him.

    posh fag cunt

    ReplyDelete
  37. 'few years work'! come on it was 2 at most. don't lecture london writers about putting in work, this ain't a walk in the park like copenhagen or berlin where nothing gets buffed and panels run all week.

    ReplyDelete
  38. This is some gay bullshit. Can only hope none of you are writers. Just goes to show how London Graffiti eats itself from the inside out. This is the first proper book to be made on London graffiti so if you think you can do better, do it. If not shut up.

    ReplyDelete
  39. 2 years is considered a few years...

You miserable bunch of fuckers, its actually crazy how negative london is you dont even seem to realise your haters, the actual definition of.

Almost all the writers who bitch continuously on these forums are has beens who did a bit in there time and now feel everyone owes them a favour and no one is worthy. Copenhagen and berlin shine with amazing style because of the hard work everyone puts in.

Why dont you spend 2 years even 1 year on a new book, make sure everyone is %100 fully happy with their sections and that absolutely no one gets left out or feels misrepresented, fund the whole thing and then sell it for cost price...

Crack and shine is what it is and is the first of its kind in this city, it actually documents and represents very well a time when there was a lot more promise and work coming out of our great city.

  40. JESUS CHRIST!
You lot are insane! is this sort of stuff seriously your biggest concern in life. If no one made a book you'd probably whine about how "no one rates the london graff scene and gives it enough kudos and attention". Two guys who respect and admire writers put a massive effort in to show appreciation for poxy wall art, not to cash in or gain notoriety. To publish a book independently costs a lot of money that is most likely never to be made back.
I don't graff and wouldn't ever waste my time doing so.......besides, i'm scared of the dark. But anyone who produces something astonishing or aesthetically pleasing deserves credit; all these people bitching about writers, crews and book creators display a basic and juvenile degree of envy and pent up aggression. Have you stuck all the pages of your copy of FHM together? Have you run out of soap bar and rolling baki? Are you down to your last Montana?
Some people on here are right: This is one hell of a negative scene. You lot should be pleased there are like minded people out there- or is that the reason you're pissed off- cos' you're not so 'individual' anymore? I bet if you lot all got in a pub together, you'd have a good time and exchange numbers....one of you might even let on that you have a Nintendo Wii at home and within minutes it's a rabble of paint splattered chaps heading out of the boozer and back to some guys house for a few lines of k and some Mario Kart.
Whether you like it or not, Graffiti is a form of art, be it the painter or the wall it's painted on.
Be thankful you don't live in Haiti, Praise God you can get free porn, Be pleased you have a skill, teach others to do it, get better at it, wank away your hatred of ATG, and above all......Keep it to yourself

  42. Most writers in London are wannabe Danny Dyer actors more concerned about their irrelevent legacy than actually piecing. Go and upload onto your Flickr sites you mugs. The Drax and score book will be out when Drax manages to control a spraycan

  43. Yeah, real yard mission...big deal. Did you log the numbers on the trains and swap them?

    ReplyDelete
  44. bla bla bla shut the fuck up all of you! the book's good, specially as a first book on london graff! all those who say it isn't are just wankers who wish they could've been in it! respect to guys behind crack and shine...good job...

  45. i got the book for free on the internet (pdf) and i only really liked the Grand and Farringdon bits. i also got the Bristol book Children Of The Can for free and thats even fucking worse. they would of set me back 50 notes in the shop so i'm well happy i can spend the money on some Danny Dyer DVDs instead.

  46. Faggy toys with nothing better to do but sprout bullshit. Crack n Shine is the best LDN book ever written. Those that have reached an age without a 1 before it will know just how epic this book is. Every featured person was one of the best in the game. My only complaint is there isn't more of it.
-This forum is and always was a fag toy hangout for fuckup net pussies that have zero knowledge on anything they can't guess from looking at pictures other people post for them. Everyone with any real finger on the scene (and probably even BT) laughs at your pathetic childish ramblings, your an embarressment to Graff everywhere, and it's a blessing this place died a death when it did.
